Educational Trips and Visits

At Springwest Academy, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our carefully selected and planned trips are designed to enrich the educational journey of all Springwest students by offering trips and visits from year 7 through to year 11 which help to expose students to new places/experiences while promoting personal growth, the discovery of new interests and the consolidation of learning that takes place at school.

Each trip is an opportunity for growth, learning, and connection. Explore this section of the website for more information about upcoming trips, costs, and how to participate.

Trips to Support the Curriculum
Many of our trips are closely linked to the curriculum, ensuring that students meet their educational objectives while exploring new environments. Each journey is crafted to reinforce classroom learning through real-world applications, whether it’s a Geography trip to carry out fieldwork, an English trip to the theatre to see a set text performed or a language immersion experience abroad.

Promoting New Experiences andTrips 2 Interests
In addition to academic enrichment, our trips encourage students to discover new passions and talents. Through workshops, tours and interactive activities, students explore interests in arts, sciences, sports and culture as well as gaining insights into higher education and possible career pathways. This exposure helps cultivate a lifelong love for learning and supports them in making informed decisions about the future.

Residential Experiences
Our residential trips provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in different environments. From outwards bounds experiences in the Welsh mountains to the exploration of European cities, these experiences foster independence, teamwork, and adaptability. Students engage in hands-on activities, group projects, and outdoor adventures that enhance their social skills and build lasting friendships.

Rewards TripsTrips 3
There are trips designed to recognise and celebrate students’ achievements, commitment, and positive behaviour throughout the school year. These incentive-based trips offer a fun and engaging way for students to connect with their peers while enjoying activities like amusement park visits, adventure sports, and sharing meals together. Our rewards trips aim to promote motivation and a sense of community, encouraging students to strive for their personal best. These rewards trips are led by our Heads of Year and also by the students themselves through the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme.
