Imperial War Museum
BackOn Monday 17th April, 30 Year 9 students wishing to study GCSE History were invited on a trip to the Imperial War Museum in central London.
Students received sessions from the museum's Holocaust educators and then students went to the specialist Holocaust gallery. They were given ipads with tasks to ensure they were thinking deeply about what they were witnessing and answered questions in groups about the exhibition. Students behaved really well within the Holocaust Gallery and walked around quietly and respectfully.
After a quick stop for lunch, we then had time to visit the museum's WWII gallery and students got to go inside bomb shelters and see real war-time tanks and vehicles.
