Hounslow Borough Chess Championship

Monday 15th July saw pupils from four Hounslow schools competing in the augural Hounslow Borough Chess Championship. The event was hosted by Springwest Academy, with the Heathland School, The Green School, and St Mark's Catholic School all in attendance to see who would be crowned Borough Chess Champions. It was an incredibly close fought race, all schools and participants fighting tooth and nail for every win, with one game between Miguel Castillo (Springwest Academy) and Milana Zdero (The Green School) going to the final second. Going into the final round, there was only one point between all the schools. In the end, when the dust settled it was Heathland School who came out on top and were crowned the Hounslow Borough Chess Champions. Vihaan Karthik (Springwest Academy), Grigory Bakurov (The Green School), and Sean Farragher (The Green School) all won five out of their six games, earning them the title of Hounslow Borough Master.
