For Parents

As students in Year 11 approach their exams here are ways that students and families can support excellent outcomes. Please find useful resources in this section to support your child.

Attendance: It is vital that your child is in school everyday in order to spend time learning with their teachers who will deliver sessions on the content and skills they need to be successful for their exams.  Research proves a link between attendance and exam results.  If your child is absent for a medical reason, please get them to speak to their subject teachers.

Interventions + Library: Your child has opportunities to attend intervention sessions before/after school for a range of subjects (this can be found in the student section of KS4 information page). In addition, the library is open from 16:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Thursday after school if your child requires a quiet space to revise.

Wellbeing: Maintaining good physical, mental and emotional health is always important.  Ensure you make time for rest and relaxation.  Good sleep routines, a healthy diet, and exercise all help with exam success.  During exam preparation you might experience feelings of worry or anxiety- small amounts of anxiety are normal but can be hard to manage. If you have any questions about exams, please use our revision guide for parents or email your child’s Form Tutor, Pastoral Mentor or Achievement Coordinator.
