Sports Day
BackOn Thursday 11th July, students excitedly attended school, eager to represent their Houses, as they took part in our annual Inter House Sports Day.
We were extremely lucky to have the best weather in what's been a very wet July; providing the perfect conditions for our students to shine and to display their moral and performance virtues. Our Sports Day highlights were:
- The superb athletes: Tyrese threw an astonishing 28m in the Javelin and James aced the100m, breaking both the previous school records
- Sports Day Quiz where tutor groups came together to answer general knowledge sports questions
- Farah and Seacole Houses showing the most effort in fancy dress and supporting their houses with some fantastic banners
- Mr Okwu and Mr Jefferies thrashing it out at the start of the staff relay race and Miss Dunn bringing it home for a Farah House win again
- The sheer joy on everyone's faces when they collected their free ice cream or slushy
- Finally, the Mexican Wave and House Anthem sung proudly by all, led by Mr Hart, was so heartwarming to see!
There is no Sports Day without the help of many people both prior to and during the event. As always, our staff led with kindness and boosted community spirit. Well done to 7RSU who received the House Spirit award for displaying the best attitude, support, and politeness throughout the day.
Sports day is always a great display of inclusion and it was so lovely to also see the Centre and Arc students proudly participating again, next year promises to be even better with new events planned!
The PE team are grateful to all our staff and students for supporting and partaking in what was a great day and well done again to the newly crowned champions Christiansen House!
